The firm is lead by Lim Wei Jiet, an experienced trial & appellate lawyer with more than 25 reported judgments. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Malaysian Courts, and is versed in arbitration proceedings.

Recently, Wei Jiet was named "Young Lawyer of the Year" at Thomson Reuters’ Asian Legal Business Malaysian Law Awards 2022, which acknowledges a practitioner aged 40 & below for his/her "remarkable achievements in the legal profession and the larger community as well".

A versatile advocate, Wei Jiet’s court craft spans across commercial contracts, corporate disputes, employment, intellectual property, professional negligence, defamation & land law. Wei Jiet is particularly adept in public law litigation, having led many landmark suits against government bodies to protect the fundamental rights & economic interests of clients. He also advises corporations on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) compliance, having in-depth knowledge on climate change targets, corporate governance & human rights.

Over the years, Wei Jiet has been entrusted to act for State Governments, ex-Cabinet Ministers, MNCs, United Nations agencies & the world’s leading NGOs – and is hence no stranger to diverse forms of high-stakes & complex disputes. In 2019, he was appointed by the Attorney General to present the Federal Government’s case in the country’s first Constitutional Tribunal established to advise the King on the removal of Election Commissioners for misconduct.

Wei Jiet currently serves as Malaysia’s National Representative to the International Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Committee (IBA-YLC).

Outside court, he is a regular commentator on current legal issues across all major news channels. He maintains a column in The Edge on how recent legal developments shape the business world.

Wei Jiet graduated as a Tun Suffian Foundation scholar from the University of Malaya. He was captain of the varsity debating team and represented the Faculty of Law in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

  • Acted for a regional airline in one of Malaysia’s first appellate decisions on competition law, whereby a RM10million penalty was imposed

  • Acted for a Malaysian oil & gas company at the Federal Court against a UK-based MNC in a patent dispute involving mobile offshore production units valued at RM160 million
  • Acted for a global fashion house at the Federal Court against a Malaysian company in a trademark infringement suit
  • Acted for a world-renowned Malaysian nasyid singer at the Federal Court against a leading fashion retailer for passing off a celebrity’s name unlawfully in the textile market

Employment Law

  • Acted for the hotel union in a landmark Federal Court case which decided that hotels across Malaysia cannot use service charge to pay the minimum wage
  • Acted for a national airline employee in a landmark Federal Court case which developed the test for dismissal for participation in trade union activities
  • Advised a UK-based fast fashion retail MNC on potential forced labour activities among its suppliers based in Malaysia

  • Advised Undi18 on its successful litigation to compel the Prime Minister to confer 1.2 million youths the right to vote by December 2021
